New York Times.¬†http://nyti.ms/1DUWHQ2 The New York Times published a piece this week examining some of the controversies surrounding end of life decisions for people with dementia, in particular voluntarily stopping eating or drinking (VSED). I feel that autonomy in end of life decision making is extremely important. As a health care provider, I may not always feel comfortable with a patient’s decision, but I believe there are some decisions only the patient can make.
